The short term project „Lucky Number 7″ is part of the Designing_AI Lab. Its goal is to give all participating students a comprehensive look into working with a robot arm using the Grasshopper plugin for Rhino.

The project also revolves around gaining knowledge in using this manufacturing method actively and reflectively. Not every tool needs to be used just because it’s available. Part of the learning is asking whether a robot arm is actually the right choice for the task at hand, or whether something simpler would do just as well.
The project ends in a group performance. Working in pairs, students build a wearable robot arm costume and use it to demonstrate what they’ve learned about human-machine interaction.
